Aarhus Film Workshop is a dynamic association and production house for people who wish to engage in the visual media of film and video. This homepage presents the many possibilities of the workshop, and offers inspiration and advice for beginners as well as experienced filmmakers.

 The workshop is supported by the Municipality of Aarhus (Aarhus Kommune) and the Institute of Film in Denmark (Det Danske Filminstitut)

The main role of Århus Film Workshop is to support new, mostly young film talents in their professional and artistic development, with the primary purpose to help them with education or employment within the film industry.
Aid may be granted by applying for film support and can include consultancy and production equipment. The Workshop supports up to 40 productions annually, with an emphasis on short fiction films.

Århus Film Workshop has close relations with the surrounding production environment, as well as educational and cultural institutions. In addition, we house the alternative education Super8 film, Potemkin Filmcshool and youth school Station Next.

Århus Film workshop is and has been initiator of a wide range of innovative projects and events:
Throughout the eighties and nineties, we participated in the large video festivals with titles such as Container TV, Icarus and 56'Nord, while in this millennium, focus has been on talent development projects such as 20 Minutter i Danmark, Den Fortsatte Fortælling and not least the three rounds of Jysk Film competition. Furthermore, Århus Film Wokshop arranges regular public events such as Reeltime in Øst for Paradis.

Århus Film Workshop is and has been a springboard for many new filmmakers; Through Århus Film Workshop, it is possible to produce a first film without being in debt for the rest of life - as well as moving on to film school or other relevant training.

Aarhus Film Workshop finds and develops new cinematic talent to the Danish film industry ... and we are really good at it.
